How I got to web design
and optimization

I'm Carlos Andrés, founder of Cas Web Design, and I've spent over seven years helping local businesses reach their full potential online. My approach combines high-performance web design with SEO strategies that actually rank.

My passion for technology started as a kid, taking apart my house's remote controls just to understand how they worked. In high school I took an elective where I designed my first website in Wix, and from that moment I knew the internet was going to be part of my life. In 2016 I entered the University of Puerto Rico in Bayamón to study computer science, with the goal of understanding how the internet works both in its physical infrastructure and in its logic.

But in 2017 Hurricane María transformed everyone's life in Puerto Rico, including mine. Operations at my campus were severely affected, and a year later, in 2018, a massive strike paralyzed all university campuses. Faced with the lack of academic continuity, I decided to go from theory to practice and joined the United States Army, where I had the privilege of working as an IT Specialist (MOS 25B) with a security clearance that allowed me to work on the encryption of tactical communications between battalions.

During my six years in the Army I never let go of the passion. In parallel I kept designing websites for local businesses, acting as a web designer in Puerto Rico and webmaster for the Army. And still I noticed something uncomfortable: the sites looked professional, performed well technically… and got no traffic.

That's when I discovered the power of SEO and digital marketing. I decided to get certified by Google in digital marketing fundamentals and complete an SEO specialization with the University of California, Davis.

There I understood what governs how I work today: the true value of a website isn't only in its appearance, but in its ability to be found, understood and preferred by the right audience.

That's how Cas Web Design was born, as an ode to my origins: a curious kid who took a web design class without knowing he was starting the project that would one day transform entire businesses.
